RBL Bank reported a net profit of Rs 82,244 lakh for FY26, up 18.3% from Rs 69,537 lakh in FY25. Total income grew 3.4% to Rs 1,845,695 lakh. Operating profit before provisions declined 9% to Rs 329,915 lakh, but the bank significantly reduced provisions to Rs 225,961 lakh (down from Rs 295,866 lakh), driving the profit increase. Gross NPA improved sharply from 2.60% to 1.45%, and net NPA stood at 0.39%. The bank proposed a dividend of Rs 1 per share. Additionally, Emirates NBD Bank received RBI approval to acquire up to 74% stake in the bank, pending further regulatory clearances. Auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion.
Positive for shareholders: net profit growth, significantly improved asset quality with lower NPAs, and a major foreign promoter entry in progress. The lower provisions indicate the bank may be through its NPA cycle, though operating profit pressure remains.
