REC Limited reported its highest-ever half-yearly profit of Rs. 8,877 crore, up 19% year-on-year, with total income rising 12% to Rs. 29,828 crore. Loan book grew 7% YoY to Rs. 5.82 lakh crore, while disbursements hit a record Rs. 1.15 lakh crore (up 27% YoY). Asset quality strengthened, with gross NPAs falling to 1.06% and net NPAs to 0.24%; Stage-2 assets dropped 52% after Rs. 11,400 crore prepayment from the Kaleshwaram project. Net interest margin stood at 3.64% with a spread of 2.89%, and capital adequacy remained comfortable at 23.74%. Management maintained its 11–12% loan growth guidance for FY26 and reiterated the Rs. 10 lakh crore loan book target by 2030, supported by a committed order book of Rs. 2.5 lakh crore. A second interim dividend of Rs. 4.60 per share was declared, taking H1 FY26 total dividend to Rs. 9.20 per share.
Strong record-breaking results, improving asset quality, reaffirmed growth guidance, and healthy dividend payout are positive for shareholders. The clear Rs. 10 lakh crore 2030 target and steady margins should support investor confidence and likely be viewed favorably by the market.
