Release of capital for amalgamation of RRB
Awaiting price reaction for this filing.
Bank of Maharashtra has transferred Rs. 450.46 crore to Bank of India as part of the amalgamation of Maharashtra Gramin Bank and Vidharbha Konkan Gramin Bank into a single Regional Rural Bank (RRB) under Bank of Maharashtra's sponsorship. The amount represents the face value of the share capital held by Bank of India in Vidharbha Konkan Gramin Bank (the transferor RRB). This follows NABARD's National Level Project Monitoring Unit guidance and an earlier intimation dated 8th April 2025. The merged entity will be the second RRB sponsored by Bank of Maharashtra, expanding its rural banking footprint.
This is a routine capital outflow of around Rs. 450 crore as part of a government/NABARD-directed RRB consolidation and is unlikely to materially impact the bank's standalone financials. Shareholders should note that Bank of Maharashtra is expanding its sponsored RRB presence, which could strengthen its rural reach over the long term.
