Reliance Industries posted its highest-ever quarterly consolidated EBITDA and net profit for Q1 FY26. Gross revenue rose 6% year-on-year to ₹2,73,252 crore, while EBITDA jumped 35.7% to ₹58,024 crore with margins expanding 460 basis points to 21.2%. Profit after tax surged 75.8% to ₹30,681 crore, partly boosted by ₹8,924 crore from sale of listed investments; excluding that, PAT grew 25% YoY. Jio Platforms reported revenue of ₹41,054 crore (up 18.8%) and EBITDA of ₹18,135 crore (up 23.9%), crossing 200 million 5G subscribers and 20 million home connections, with JioAirFiber becoming the world's largest FWA service at 7.4 million users. Reliance Retail delivered revenue of ₹84,171 crore (up 11.3%) and EBITDA of ₹6,381 crore (up 12.7%), with its registered customer base reaching 358 million. The O2C segment saw revenue decline 1.5% due to a planned shutdown but EBITDA rose 10.8% on better fuel margins, while Oil & Gas EBITDA fell 4.1% on natural gas decline. JioStar posted record revenue of ₹11,222 crore driven by the biggest-ever IPL, with peak concurrency of 55.2 million.
Strong all-round beat with record profitability, expanding margins, and robust growth in digital and retail businesses should support positive sentiment. However, the headline PAT growth is flattered by one-time investment gains, and the Oil & Gas segment continues to face natural production decline, which investors will weigh against the consumer-facing growth momentum.
