Reliance Power reported Q1FY26 consolidated revenue from operations of Rs. 1,886 crore, down about 5.4% from Rs. 1,992 crore in Q1FY25. Total income stood at Rs. 2,025 crore with EBITDA of Rs. 565 crore and profit after tax of Rs. 45 crore, a sharp swing from a Rs. 98 crore loss a year ago. Net worth is Rs. 16,431 crore and debt-to-equity ratio remains low at 0.43. The company highlighted the 3,960 MW Sasan plant achieving ~91% plant load factor and Rosa plant ~97% availability. Subsidiary Reliance NU Energies won a 350 MW solar + BESS project from SJVN, taking the group's solar + BESS portfolio to 2.4 GW DC and over 2.5 GWh of storage. The company also allotted 11.88 crore equity shares via warrant conversion, leading to equity dilution.
Positive swing to profitability and low leverage are encouraging, but shareholders should note the auditor's explicit emphasis on material going-concern uncertainty at subsidiary RSTEPL and a US$ 184.89 million (Rs. 1,581 crore) guarantee invocation on Samalkot Power now under London arbitration, both of which are overhangs on the consolidated position.
