Reliance Retail's Q1 profit drops 14% YoY but revenue rises 8%

Reliance Retail's Q1 profit declined 14 percent year-on-year even as gross revenue rose 7.4 percent to 90,408 crore. Operating margins remained under pressure for the third straight quarter, with Ebitda margin at 7.9 percent versus 8.7 percent a year ago, as rising e-commerce sales and digital infrastructure investments increased fixed costs. Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL) more than doubled gross revenue to 8,600 crore, with Independence brand sales at 3,200 crore and Campa beverages at 2,900 crore.
