RHI Magnesita India Ltd reported audited standalone financial results for FY26 with revenue from operations of Rs. 335,658.78 lakhs, down from Rs. 289,711.55 lakhs in FY25. The company reported a standalone loss before tax of Rs. 40,035.31 lakhs compared to a profit of Rs. 30,086.34 lakhs in FY25. The significant loss was primarily due to an exceptional impairment charge of Rs. 66,092.10 lakhs on investment in its wholly-owned subsidiary RHI Magnesita India Refractories Limited. On a consolidated basis, the group reported a loss before tax of Rs. 31,977.30 lakhs with goodwill impairment of Rs. 55,624.03 lakhs. Despite the losses, the Board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 2.50 per share (250% on face value of Re. 1) for FY26, subject to shareholder approval. Statutory auditors Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants LLP issued unmodified audit opinions on both standalone and consolidated financial statements.
The large impairment charges indicate significant write-downs due to challenging market conditions and geopolitical factors affecting the subsidiary. However, the dividend recommendation provides some positive signal for shareholders despite the reported losses.
