RKD Agri & Retail Ltd (formerly Himalchuli Food Products Ltd) reported Q1 FY26 revenue of Rs. 44.24 lakhs, down from Rs. 50.21 lakhs in the previous quarter but nearly flat versus Rs. 44.50 lakhs in Q1 FY25. The company swung from a small profit of Rs. 0.36 lakhs in Q1 FY25 to a loss of Rs. 10.62 lakhs in the current quarter, continuing a pattern of losses (full year FY25 loss was Rs. 10.98 lakhs). Total expenses rose sharply to Rs. 54.86 lakhs from Rs. 44.23 lakhs a year ago, driven by higher purchases and a near-doubling of other expenses. Finance costs also jumped from Rs. 0.02 lakhs to Rs. 1.07 lakhs year-on-year. The statutory auditors (MNT and Associates LLP) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
Persistent quarterly losses and a revenue base under Rs. 50 lakhs per quarter signal stress on the business, which is negative for shareholders. Cost pressures and rising finance costs may keep margins under pressure in the near term, though the small scale means results can swing sharply with minor changes.
