Sagar Cements reported a weak FY25, with consolidated revenue from operations falling about 10% year-on-year to ₹2,25,764 lakhs (from ₹2,50,461 lakhs). Standalone revenue dropped nearly 18% to ₹1,56,664 lakhs. The company swung to a consolidated net loss of ₹21,668 lakhs for the year, sharply worse than the ₹5,205 lakh loss in FY24, and reported a Q4 standalone loss of ₹3,017 lakhs versus a profit of ₹3,240 lakhs a year ago. A one-time exceptional charge of ₹2,879 lakhs (consolidated) was booked as a fuel and power cost adjustment following orders from the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission, further pressuring profits. Operating margin on a consolidated basis compressed from 10% to 6%, and EPS deteriorated to ₹(16.58) from ₹(3.98). On the balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio rose to 0.80x, debt service coverage ratio fell to a weak 0.47x, and the current ratio slipped below 1 to 0.91x. The statutory auditor, Deloitte Haskins & Sells, issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both the standalone and consolidated results.
Negative for shareholders — revenue declined, losses widened sharply, and key financial health metrics like debt servicing and current ratio deteriorated. The clean auditor opinion provides some reassurance on accounting quality, but the underlying business performance is weak and may weigh on the stock price and investor sentiment.
