Salzer Electronics reported consolidated Q2 FY26 revenue of Rs. 418.92 crore, up 21.7% year-on-year, driven by strong growth in Industrial Switchgear (24.6%) and Building Products (25.4%). EBITDA grew only 3.56% to Rs. 36.57 crore with margins falling to 8.73% from 10.26% due to higher input costs and smart meter scaling expenses. Profit after tax rose 16.24% to Rs. 13.39 crore (EPS Rs. 7.35). For H1 FY26, revenue grew 22.7% to Rs. 860 crore with PAT up 16.5% at Rs. 30.61 crore. The Smart Meter business delivered Rs. 22 crore in Q2 alone, reflecting early ramp-up. The company also secured a new patent for a high-voltage disconnecting and earthing device used in traction and locomotive systems.
Strong top-line growth and smart meter traction are positives, but margin compression of 153 bps and a sequential revenue decline of 5% from Q1 suggest near-term profitability pressure. The stock may react cautiously given the weak sequential show despite healthy yearly numbers — investors should track smart meter volumes and margin recovery in coming quarters.
