Samhi Hotels reported a strong Q1 FY26 with total income of INR 287 crore (up 13% year-on-year) and EBITDA of INR 106 crore (up 19%), while profit after tax tripled to INR 19.2 crore. Same-store revenue per available room rose 10% to INR 4,760, despite a weak May due to geopolitical tensions. The company signed the sale of its Caspia Delhi hotel for INR 65 crore and earlier raised INR 750 crore from GIC through a minority stake sale in certain assets, together creating INR 960 crore of capital capacity. Management committed around INR 1,000 crore to new inventory and renovations targeting 15%+ yields, including the W Hyderabad and Westin-Tribute Bangalore. Credit rating was upgraded by ICRA from A- to A with positive outlook, and finance costs have already fallen 30% from INR 195 crore to INR 135 crore.
Positive for shareholders: balance sheet is strengthening with net debt to EBITDA at 3x and interest costs set to decline further, while the upscale-focused growth pipeline supports management's target of taking revenue to INR 2,200-2,300 crore over 3-5 years. The credit rating upgrade and easing interest burden could support sentiment and re-rating.
