ICRA has upgraded Samhi Hotels' credit rating from [ICRA]A- to [ICRA]A with a Positive outlook and removed it from Rating Watch with Positive Implications. The upgrade applies to the issuer rating as well as the long-term fund-based term loan of Rs 276.32 crore. Short-term ratings on fund-based and non-fund-based facilities (totalling Rs 12.68 crore) have been reaffirmed at [ICRA]A2+ and also removed from Rating Watch. Similar upgrades were extended to four subsidiaries — SAMHI Hotels (Gurgaon), SAMHI Hotels (Ahmedabad), Ascent Hotels, and Caspia Hotels — with their long-term term loans upgraded to [ICRA]A (Positive) and short-term ratings reaffirmed at A2+.
This is a positive development for shareholders — the rating upgrade signals improved creditworthiness and lower perceived risk, which could translate into cheaper future borrowings. The positive outlook suggests ICRA sees room for further improvement, reflecting strengthening business performance across the hotel portfolio.
