Sammaan Capital Limited reported a massive consolidated loss of Rs 8,784.42 crore for FY26 (vs loss of Rs 2,375.57 crore in FY25), driven by an exceptional item of Rs 6,499.17 crore from sale of identified non-core exposures to an Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC). The company also recognized an additional ECL Management Overlay of Rs 1,850 crore due to macroeconomic uncertainties. Revenue from operations declined to Rs 8,166.16 crore from Rs 8,623.33 crore in the previous year. Positively, the company achieved zero NPA status through write-offs. Major strategic development: International Holding Company PJSC (IHC), Abu Dhabi, through its subsidiary Avenir Investment RSC Ltd, completed its Rs 8,850 crore investment and became the promoter and controlling shareholder. Credit ratings were upgraded by Moody's (to B1), CRISIL (to AA+/Stable), and CARE (to AA+; Stable). The Board also authorized raising up to Rs 10,000 crore through various debt instruments.
The company faces significant near-term losses from strategic cleanup of legacy assets, but the new IHC backing and rating upgrades signal improved financial stability going forward. The zero NPA achievement and retail-focused transformation strategy are positive for long-term shareholders.
