Sangal Papers Ltd's board, at a meeting on 24 July 2025, approved additional borrowings from Axis Bank in the form of a term loan of Rs 6 crore. The funds will be used to expand production capacity by replacing the existing 3 MW turbine with a 4.5 MW turbine. The loan will also finance the installation of an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), modification of the boiler to use Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), and purchase of miscellaneous machinery. The disclosure was made to BSE under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
This is a growth-oriented capex move funded by debt, signalling management's confidence in expanding operations. Shareholders should note a modest increase in leverage, but the upgrade to a larger turbine and cleaner fuel (RDF) could improve long-term efficiency and cost savings.
