Sapphire Foods India, which runs KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell franchises in India, Sri Lanka and Maldives, filed its Q3 FY26 corporate presentation with the exchanges. Q3 FY26 restaurant sales rose 7% YoY to ₹8,112 Mn, but EBITDA fell 3% to ₹1,360 Mn with margins contracting 170 bps to 16.8%. For 9M FY26, EBITDA margin dropped 220 bps to 15.3%. The KFC brand grew revenue 10% YoY but its restaurant EBITDA margin slipped 170 bps to 16.2%, while Pizza Hut turned negative at -2.4% (down 690 bps). Sri Lanka remained a bright spot with 19% revenue growth in rupee terms. The company also flagged its January 2026 merger scheme with Devyani International, awaiting regulatory approvals.
Shareholders should note meaningful margin compression across both core brands despite steady revenue growth, particularly the sharp deterioration at Pizza Hut. The proposed merger with Devyani International could be a significant value driver but remains subject to approvals, creating near-term uncertainty.
