Sarda Energy & Minerals' Board approved three key decisions in its April 3, 2026 meeting. First, it will form a 50-50 joint venture with promoter group company Chhattisgarh Investment Ltd for real estate development with an investment of ₹25 crore. Second, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sarda Energy Limited, it is acquiring majority stake in Adishankar Khuitam Power Pvt. Ltd. (AKPPL) for ₹25 crore enterprise value. AKPPL holds rights to develop a 66 MW hydro power plant in Arunachal Pradesh, pending final approvals. Third, the company appointed Mr. Partha Sarthi Dutta Gupta (66 years old) as Executive Director - Power & Corporate Affairs, effective immediately. Mr. Dutta Gupta brings 46 years of power sector experience including 28 years at NTPC, and was previously a Wholetime Director at the company's subsidiary Madhya Bharat Power Corporation Ltd.
The new appointments and acquisitions signal the company's strategic push into green energy and diversification into real estate, which could be positive for long-term growth prospects. The appointment of an experienced power sector veteran strengthens the management team.
