Saregama India's board, at its meeting on 31 July 2025, approved unaudited financial results for Q1 FY26 (quarter ended 30 June 2025) and appointed two new Non-Executive Independent Directors. On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations rose marginally to ₹20,677 lakhs (vs ₹20,528 lakhs in Q1 FY25), while net profit dipped slightly to ₹3,651 lakhs (vs ₹3,709 lakhs); Basic EPS stood at ₹1.90. Standalone numbers were stronger, with profit up ~8% to ₹4,022 lakhs and EPS of ₹2.09. Segment-wise, the Music business remained the key profit driver, while Video and Events segments slipped into losses. Two former senior bankers/executives — ex-SBI Chairman Pratip Chaudhuri and ex-CESC Executive Director Vinod Kumar — joined the board as Independent Directors for a 5-year term, subject to shareholder approval.
For shareholders, the results show flat consolidated performance with weakness in the Video and Events segments, though the Music core remains healthy. The addition of two high-profile independent directors with banking and corporate experience could strengthen board oversight, but the appointment is largely a governance event and unlikely to move the stock on its own.
