Scan Steels Ltd reported audited FY25 results with standalone total income declining to Rs 79,380.81 lakhs from Rs 96,743.06 lakhs in FY24, a drop of about 18%. Despite the revenue fall, standalone net profit rose to Rs 1,960.49 lakhs from Rs 1,773.02 lakhs (~10.6% growth), and consolidated net profit increased to Rs 2,165.20 lakhs from Rs 2,105.45 lakhs. Standalone EPS stood at Rs 3.35 (FY24: Rs 3.39), while consolidated EPS was Rs 3.69 (FY24: Rs 4.02). Operating cash flow dropped sharply to Rs 699.45 lakhs from Rs 7,827.97 lakhs, and short-term borrowings were reduced to Rs 6,192 lakhs from Rs 11,311 lakhs. The auditor (Das Pattnaik & Co) issued an unmodified opinion.
Profit margins improved even as sales shrank, indicating better cost control, but the steep decline in operating cash flow and lower revenue raise concerns about the sustainability of earnings. The reduction in short-term borrowings is a positive for the balance sheet.
