Schneider Electric Infrastructure's board approved higher capital expenditure at its Kolkata Medium Voltage Components facility. Capex for MV Vacuum Interrupters capacity (from 80k to 250k units per year) has been raised from INR 138 Crores to INR 184 Crores. Separately, capex for a new Mechanism Assembly Line has been revised from INR 90.6 Crores to INR 107.2 Crores. The extra spend of about INR 62.6 Crores will be funded via internal accruals or borrowings. Completion targeted by June 2028.
Higher capital outlay signals growth push. Plant already at 90 percent utilization supports the case, though part of the funding is via borrowings.
