Sensex falls 50 points, Nifty above 24,050; Eternal, Sun Pharma, TechM rise 1%

Sensex closed 45 points lower at 77,055 while Nifty 50 edged up about 6 points to 24,061.75 in a mixed Monday session. Eternal, Sun Pharma and Tech Mahindra led gains with over 1% rise, while Kotak Mahindra Bank, InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), M&M, BEL and Larsen & Toubro fell up to 1.5%. India VIX climbed 4.5% to 13.64, with analysts flagging low Brent crude below $73, abated FII selling and a 43% monsoon deficit as key near-term factors.
