Sensex jumped around 450 points to 76,958 and Nifty 50 rose about 126 points to 24,007 in a sharp recovery after yesterday's 2% plus crash triggered by US President Trump's statement that the ceasefire with Iran was 'over'. Eternal led Sensex gainers with a 3% plus rise, while Titan, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Trent, and Asian Paints rose over 1% each; IT stocks Infosys, TCS, HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra bucked the trend, falling up to 2%. India VIX dropped over 7% to 13.63, Brent crude held near $79 a barrel, FIIs were net buyers for a sixth straight session at Rs 1,962.80 crore, and the rupee opened nearly flat at 95.55 against the dollar, with analysts flagging 23,800 as the critical Nifty support level to watch.
