Sharda Ispat reported a sharp decline in Q1 FY26 (quarter ended 30 June 2025) results. Revenue from operations fell to Rs. 2,781.96 lakhs, down about 42% from Rs. 4,775.82 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Net profit collapsed to just Rs. 28.39 lakhs versus Rs. 296.42 lakhs in Q1 FY25, a drop of over 90%. EPS shrank to Rs. 0.56 from Rs. 5.84. Finance costs nearly doubled YoY to Rs. 63.77 lakhs, putting additional pressure on margins. The statutory auditor (Panpaliya Taori & Co.) issued an unqualified limited review opinion. The board also approved the re-appointment of the statutory auditor for a second 5-year term, and appointed the cost and secretarial auditors.
Sharply lower revenue and a steep fall in profits signal weak demand or pricing pressure in the company's iron and steel business, which is likely negative for the stock in the near term. Rising finance costs and compressed margins are key concerns for shareholders to watch.
