Appointment of Dr. Vellaian Karuppiah as Chief Operating Officer (COO) Formulations (Senior Managerial Personnel)

Shilpa Medicare Limited has appointed Dr. Vellaian Karuppiah as Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Formulations (Senior Managerial Personnel) effective 23 April 2026. Dr. Karuppiah, aged 52, brings over 33 years of extensive pharmaceutical experience across formulation R&D, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, quality systems, and supply chain management. He previously held senior leadership roles at major pharmaceutical companies including Gland Pharma (Fosun Group), Strides Group, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, and Actavis (now Teva). His appointment was approved by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and is for full-time employment. The company expects this appointment to strengthen its formulation business operations and enhance operational efficiencies.
