Shyam Metalics reported its sales update for March 2025, Q4 FY25, and full-year FY25. Carbon steel volumes grew 12% year-on-year in FY25 but average realizations fell 5% to around Rs. 44,500/MT. Aluminium foil performed strongly with FY25 volumes up 27% and realizations up 6%; the company expects better EBITDA margins going forward due to recent import duties on foil. Stainless steel saw a sharp 66% jump in FY25 volumes and 17% higher realizations on a richer product mix. New capacities at the Jamuria plant, including a 7.7 lakh tonne blast furnace and a colour-coated sheet plant commissioned in November 2024, are ramping up, with Parallel Flange Beams production expected later this year. The pellet segment remained weak with FY25 volumes down 19% on tepid demand.
Broadly positive for shareholders: diversified product growth, capacity additions coming online, and a favourable policy backdrop for aluminium foil support the earnings outlook, though soft pellet volumes and a dip in sponge iron realizations are minor headwinds.
