Shyam Metalics reported mixed sales performance across its product portfolio for December 2025. Strong YoY volume growth was seen in newer or ramped-up segments: CR Coil/Sheets surged 835.77% YoY (boosted by the new color-coated plant at Jamuria), Pig Iron rose 45.49%, Speciality Alloys jumped 50.05%, Sponge Iron grew 19.52%, and Stainless Steel increased 19.07%. However, Carbon Steel volumes fell 8.03% YoY with realizations down 4.40%, and Pellet declined 1.95% YoY. Realizations were generally stronger YoY across most segments except Carbon Steel, Sponge Iron, and Pig Iron. On a sequential basis, Pig Iron volumes dropped sharply by 35.44% MoM and Pellet fell 16.72% MoM, while Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel showed MoM recovery. QoQ, several segments including Carbon Steel, Pellet, Pig Iron, and Aluminium Foil saw volume declines, signaling softer Q3 FY26 demand in some product lines.
The update reflects a mixed quarter — newer segments (CR Sheets, HR Pipes, Pig Iron from the new blast furnace) are clearly driving incremental growth, but pressure persists in legacy products like Carbon Steel and Pellet. Investors should watch whether the MoM slump in Pig Iron is a one-off or signals weakening demand. Overall neutral-to-mildly-positive, as YoY trajectory remains strong despite QoQ softness.
