Shyamkamal Investments, a small trading and investment company, reported a sharp turnaround in H1 FY26. Revenue from operations more than doubled to ₹118.43 lakhs (vs ₹54.43 lakhs in H1 FY25), and the company swung to a profit of ₹19.77 lakhs from a loss of ₹19.10 lakhs in the same period last year. Q2 standalone revenue was ₹69.99 lakhs with a profit of ₹21.96 lakhs. Despite the operational improvement, the balance sheet remains weak with negative other equity of ₹(606.38) lakhs and short-term borrowings of ₹1,187.66 lakhs. The auditor flagged several concerns in an emphasis of matter: no audit trail in the accounting software, an unverified joint venture investment of ₹187 lakhs with ₹95.24 lakhs still outstanding, and bank balances at HDFC and Canara Bank that could not be verified, with IDBI Bank balances subject to reconciliation.
The headline turnaround in revenue and profit is positive, but shareholders should note the auditor's qualifications on verification of bank balances and a large unconfirmed JV receivable, along with a highly leveraged balance sheet where accumulated losses exceed ₹6 crore. The stock may react positively to the profit swing, but underlying data integrity issues warrant caution.
