Siemens Limited, as part of a consortium with Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon and Siemens Mobility GmbH, has been awarded a contract by National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor. The total order is valued at approximately Rs. 4,100 crores, with Siemens Limited's share at Rs. 1,230 crore covering design, installation, and long-term maintenance of European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 signaling and telecommunication technologies. Execution is expected over 54 months, followed by 15 years of maintenance support, with the system designed for train speeds up to 350 km/h. This is India's first high-speed rail project and a key component of the National Rail Plan 2030.
This is a significant new order win for Siemens Limited, adding Rs. 1,230 crore to its order book with visibility stretching over several years due to the long maintenance period. The prestigious project strengthens Siemens' positioning in India's mobility and rail infrastructure space and is likely to be viewed positively by investors.
