JSW Infrastructure's wholly owned subsidiary, JSW Jaigarh Port Limited, has signed a binding MoU with Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) to develop the Bhoke Railway Siding Project in Ratnagiri, on the Konkan Railway route. The subsidiary will provide a refundable and non-lapsable security deposit for construction and development of the project. Once complete, the railway siding will give Jaigarh Port direct rail access for moving containers, bulk, and liquid cargo. The company says this will significantly strengthen the port's ability to handle third-party cargo from the hinterland and lay the foundation for future capacity expansion. This is a follow-up to an earlier disclosure from 9th September 2024 regarding the investment in the project.
The rail connectivity will enhance Jaigarh Port's competitiveness by lowering logistics costs, expanding its cargo catchment, and supporting future capacity growth — a positive long-term development for shareholders. No immediate financial impact is disclosed as the deposit amount is not specified.
