Singer India reported strong Q2 FY26 results with revenue from operations of Rs. 13,790 lakhs, up about 30% from Rs. 10,576 lakhs in Q2 FY25. Profit after tax jumped to Rs. 383 lakhs from Rs. 127 lakhs, roughly tripling year-on-year, supported by a recovery in the sewing machines segment which grew to Rs. 11,647 lakhs from Rs. 8,018 lakhs. For the half-year (H1 FY26), revenue rose 12.5% to Rs. 23,000 lakhs but PAT slipped to Rs. 147 lakhs from Rs. 183 lakhs, as the domestic appliances segment continued to post losses (Rs. 308 lakhs loss in Q2). On the corporate actions side, the board approved a preferential issue of 5,65,397 equity shares to VSM Group Aktiebolag (Sweden) at Rs. 79.59 per share for about Rs. 4.5 crore, amended trademark license agreements with Singer Sourcing Limited LLC (USA), and approved shifting the registered office to Vasant Kunj. The auditor issued an unmodified review opinion but drew attention to the ongoing BIS license cancellation matter related to Zig Zag machine imports, and a fire incident at the registered office on 13 July 2025 led to a small Rs. 7.81 lakh loss being recognized.
Strong Q2 revenue and PAT growth should be viewed positively by investors, but the persistent losses in the domestic appliances segment and the unresolved BIS license issue remain watchpoints. The small preferential issue and trademark amendments are relatively minor but indicate ongoing strategic alignment with global Singer partners.
