Sinnar Bidi Udyog reported a turnaround in Q1 FY26 with a net profit of Rs. 7.32 lakhs, compared to a loss of Rs. 14.09 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations declined to Rs. 118.48 lakhs from Rs. 130.86 lakhs, a drop of about 9.5% year-on-year. Profit before tax swung to Rs. 7.27 lakhs from a loss of Rs. 12.43 lakhs, helped by a sharp reduction in raw material costs (Rs. 4.39 lakhs vs Rs. 46.48 lakhs). EPS improved to Rs. 1.83 from negative Rs. 3.52. Both standalone and consolidated results are identical, and the auditor issued an unqualified limited review report with no qualifications or emphasis of matter.
Return to profitability after multiple loss-making quarters is a positive signal for shareholders, though the revenue decline suggests weak demand. Given the company's very small scale and thin margins, this is more of a marginal recovery than a strong earnings beat, and is unlikely to materially move the stock price.
