SKF India's promoter, Aktiebolaget SKF (AB SKF), has acquired 3,326,004 equity shares representing 6.73% of the company's shareholding through an off-market transaction. The shares were purchased from SKF (U.K.) Limited and SKF Förvaltning AB, both of which are part of the promoter group. This is effectively an internal restructuring within the promoter group, where the parent entity AB SKF is consolidating direct ownership by buying shares from its own subsidiaries. The total promoter shareholding in the company remains unchanged — only the entity holding the shares within the group has shifted. The disclosure was filed under insider trading regulations.
This is a neutral event for shareholders since the overall promoter ownership does not change — it is merely an internal reshuffle. However, direct ownership by the ultimate parent AB SKF increases, which could slightly simplify the corporate holding structure and signal long-term commitment from the parent.
