SMC Global Securities reported Q4 FY26 revenue of INR 516.9 Crores, up 22.6% YoY, with PAT jumping 424% to INR 21.5 Crores driven by improved market activity and operating leverage. However, full-year FY26 performance shows headwinds: revenue grew 5.7% to INR 1,876.9 Crores but EBITDA declined 10.3% to INR 376.4 Crores and PAT fell 29.7% to INR 103.2 Crores. EBITDA margins compressed 350 basis points to 20.1% due to softer derivatives activity and regulatory changes in the F&O segment. The company operates three segments: Broking/Distribution/Trading (56% of revenue), NBFC Financing (34%), and Insurance Broking (10%). Insurance broking emerged as a bright spot with 17.1% revenue growth. The company has 203 branches across 396 cities, 1.32 million client demat accounts, and is expanding its digital offerings through StoxKart discount brokerage.
The sharp Q4 recovery is positive but full-year margin compression due to F&O regulatory changes remains a concern. The diversified business model and growing insurance segment provide some cushion. Shareholders should monitor the impact of new F&O regulations on core broking revenues going forward.
