SMT Engineering Ltd (formerly Adarsh Mercantile Ltd) has formally altered its main business objects clause after shareholders approved the change via postal ballot on 12th May 2025 through a special resolution. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) issued its official certificate of registration for the alteration on 4th June 2025. Under the new objects, the company is now permitted to manufacture metal fabrications, machine tools, turbines, engines, furnaces, and other plant & machinery along with their parts and accessories. It is also empowered to produce steel and alloy steel castings, forgings, grinding media, pipes, tubes, and to operate as iron and steel founders, rerollers, and smiths. This represents a significant business shift for a company previously known as a mercantile entity toward a manufacturing and engineering focus.
For shareholders, this opens the door for the company to enter heavy engineering and metal manufacturing businesses, which could broaden its revenue base and growth potential.
