Som Distilleries reported Q1 FY2026 total income of Rs. 5,301 million, up 3.2% year-on-year, with EBITDA rising 11.1% to Rs. 721 million (margin 13.6%) and net profit at Rs. 421 million, up 3.7%. Gross margin improved to 35.9% from 33.6% on better realizations and stable input costs. IMFL volumes surged nearly 60% to 4 lakh cases while beer volumes dipped 2% to 85 lakh cases, partly hit by Karnataka's high excise duty. The company is setting up a Rs. 600 crore greenfield brewery and distillery in Uttar Pradesh and launched Mahavat Whisky priced at Rs. 1,000–1,100, expanding from Bhopal to Delhi. Woodpecker Premium Beer won India's Leading Brand – Rising Star 2025 award. Net debt-to-EBITDA improved to 0.63x from 0.82x despite gross debt rising Rs. 310 million due to higher working capital utilisation.
Margin expansion and strong IMFL growth signal improving business mix, though beer volumes dipped and Karnataka remains a drag. The UP greenfield capex and premium whisky expansion could support future growth but will pressure near-term debt levels.
