Som Distilleries shares surged 14 percent to Rs 74.15 after veteran investor Prashant Jain was disclosed as holding 25.27 lakh shares, or a 1.22 percent stake, at the end of Q1 FY27, making him one of the largest public individual shareholders. The stock had fallen 33 percent in 2026 so far and over 55 percent in one year, even as it gained 250 percent over five years, with a market capitalisation of around Rs 1,500 crore. The company reported a net loss of Rs 5.7 crore in Q4 FY26 against a profit of Rs 23.7 crore a year earlier, with total income down 46 percent year-on-year to Rs 182 crore.
