Southern Magnesium & Chemicals reported audited FY25 results with an unmodified (clean) opinion from statutory auditor Brahmayya & Co. Revenue from operations more than doubled to Rs 1,243.49 lakhs vs Rs 546.70 lakhs in FY24 (up ~127%), while total income rose to Rs 1,300.41 lakhs from Rs 981.09 lakhs. Despite the strong top-line, profit after tax edged down to Rs 319.77 lakhs from Rs 333.04 lakhs, with EPS at Rs 10.66 vs Rs 11.10, reflecting higher operating costs. Q4 was notably weak on a standalone basis — revenue fell to Rs 81.12 lakhs and the company posted a small loss of Rs 6.92 lakhs. On a positive note, operating cash flow swung strongly to Rs 473.27 lakhs (from a negative Rs 308.26 lakhs last year). Total assets grew to Rs 1,962.28 lakhs and equity strengthened to Rs 992.19 lakhs. The board also appointed a new secretarial auditor and internal auditor for FY26.
Strong full-year revenue growth and a turnaround in operating cash flow are positives for shareholders, but the slight dip in net profit and a weak Q4 raise some concerns near-term. Investors should watch margin trends and whether the Q4 softness is temporary or signals a slowdown.
