Spandana Sphoorty reported its first profit after six quarters of losses, with PAT of INR5 crores in Q4 FY26 versus a loss of INR95 crores in Q3. The company achieved 12% quarter-on-quarter AUM growth to INR4,400 crores, driven by disbursements of INR500 crores per month. Collection efficiency improved significantly with X-bucket CE at 99.7%, and 80% of the portfolio now consists of new book originated under stricter guardrails. The management guided for AUM of INR6,500 crores by March 2027 and plans to add 7 lakh new borrowers during FY27. Cost of funds is expected to remain below 12.5% in FY27, while opex is targeted to decline to 7-8% of AUM. A new individual loan product targeting micro-enterprise owners is being launched in June-July 2026 with ticket sizes of INR1-4 lakhs.
The company has turned profitable after six quarters and is on a recovery path with strong collection efficiency. The forward guidance of 48% AUM growth to INR6,500 crores by FY27 end indicates a bullish growth outlook, though margin pressures from cost of borrowings remain a key monitorable.
