Spandana Sphoorty reported its first profit after six quarters of losses with PAT of INR5 crores in Q4 FY26. AUM grew 12% QoQ to INR4,420 crores - the first increase in eight quarters. Monthly disbursements rose to INR500 crores from INR400 crores in Q3. Collection efficiency improved significantly with X-bucket at 99.7% and GNPA declining to 3.8% from 4.2%. Management guided for AUM of INR6,500 crores by March 2027 and plans to add 7 lakh new borrowers in FY27. Cost of borrowing is expected at around 12.5% blended for FY27. The company also announced plans to launch a new individual loan product in June-July targeting existing customers with businesses, with ticket sizes of INR1-4 lakhs at 23-26% yield.
The company has returned to profitability with improving asset quality, indicating the turnaround is on track. The AUM growth guidance of ~47% for FY27 and focus on maintaining 99.5% collection efficiency suggests balanced growth with risk management. However, NIM contraction to 9.9% and guidance for 12.5% cost of funds indicates margin pressure ahead.
