SpiceJet announced the launch of daily non-stop flights to Phuket, Thailand from Delhi (starting October 31, 2025) and Mumbai (starting November 6, 2025). Phuket becomes the airline's second destination in Thailand after Bangkok, expanding its international leisure travel network. Bookings are already open through SpiceJet's website and mobile app. The airline is positioning this expansion to capture growing demand from Indian travellers heading to Southeast Asia's popular holiday destinations. SpiceJet currently operates Boeing 737s and Q-400s and is one of India's largest regional players under the UDAN scheme.
Network expansion into a high-demand leisure route could boost incremental revenue and improve aircraft utilization, mildly positive for sentiment. However, near-term stock impact is likely limited given SpiceJet's ongoing financial and operational challenges.
