SpiceJet's domestic market share rose sharply from 1.9% in September 2025 to 4.3% in December 2025, more than doubling in just three months. This rebound was driven by a 56% expansion in capacity during Q3, supported by the induction of 16 aircraft. Available Seat Kilometres grew from around 55 crore to 105 crore in the last quarter, and the airline plans to more than double capacity to 220 crore ASKs by Winter 2026, operating over 300 daily flights. To support this, SpiceJet is ramping up its fleet to around 60 aircraft through wet and damp leases, bringing back grounded planes, and has signed an MoU for 10 additional aircraft.
This is a positive operational update showing strong recovery and ambitious growth plans, which could lift investor sentiment. However, fleet expansion through leases and high fixed costs in the aviation sector mean profitability will depend on load factors and yields, and risks remain as noted in the company's own forward-looking statement disclaimer.
