SpiceJet announced the launch of daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Kathmandu, starting May 10, 2025, with bookings already open. This is the airline's first new international route since its INR 3,000 Crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP). The flights will operate using Boeing 737 aircraft — SG 41 departs Delhi at 8:10 AM and SG 42 returns from Kathmandu at 10:55 AM. The press release also highlighted recent domestic expansion to Shivamogga, Tuticorin, Porbandar and Dehradun, a INR 294.09 Crore promoter infusion by Ajay Singh, and credit rating upgrades from Acuité and CareEdge.
The new international route signals continued network expansion and revenue diversification for SpiceJet, and may be viewed positively by investors as it comes alongside recent promoter funding and rating upgrades. Short-term stock reaction depends on ticket uptake and load factors once flights begin in May.
