Sri Nachammai Cotton Mills has submitted its 45th Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2025. Revenue rose modestly to Rs. 6,917.34 lakhs from Rs. 6,635.93 lakhs in the previous year (about 4% growth). The company narrowed its losses significantly, with profit before tax improving to a loss of Rs. 402.91 lakhs from Rs. 601.30 lakhs, and loss after tax reducing to Rs. 320.50 lakhs from Rs. 478.97 lakhs. Loss per share improved to Rs. (7.48) from Rs. (11.17). No dividend declared due to inadequate profits. The AGM is scheduled for 26th September 2025 via video conferencing. Notice items include ratification of Cost Auditor remuneration, revision in remuneration of CMDs Mr. P. Palaniappan (age 81) and Mrs. P. Umayal (age 76), and appointment of a new Secretarial Auditor for five years (FY26 to FY30).
Despite higher revenue and a meaningful reduction in losses, the company remains loss-making at the bottom line and continues to skip dividends, which may dampen shareholder sentiment. The expansion of operating profit before interest, depreciation and tax from negative to positive is a positive operational signal, but profitability and dividend recovery remain the key things to watch.
