BSE had imposed fines of Rs. 5,08,580 (Dec 2024 quarter) and Rs. 7,43,400 (March 2025 quarter) on Standard Surfactants for non-compliance with board composition rules under Regulation 17(1) and 19 of LODR Regulations. The company paid a partial fine of Rs. 4,65,480 under protest and filed a waiver application on June 12, 2025. BSE has now rejected that waiver application via email dated February 24, 2026. The company says it is evaluating further legal options. It also disclosed that there was a 2-day unintentional delay in filing this update due to technical reasons.
The rejected waiver means the company will likely have to pay the remaining penalty amount. The company claims there is no material impact on its financials or operations beyond the penalty itself, though small investors may see this as a governance red flag given the ongoing board composition issue.
