Stock market today: Gift Nifty hints a weak start; eight day trading stocks to buy on Monday, 20 July

Indian markets are set for a weak opening on Monday, with Gift Nifty trading around 24,292.5, a discount of 29.2 points from the previous close. Escalating US-Iran tensions and Brent crude climbing 2.7 percent to $90.49 per barrel have dampened risk appetite, though Friday saw the Sensex surge 964.58 points (1.25%) to 78,151.45 and Nifty 50 gain 261.55 points (1.09%) to 24,334.30. Investors will also focus on Q1 FY27 earnings from major lenders including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, PNB, RBL Bank, and Punjab & Sind Bank.
