Stock market today: Gift Nifty hints muted start; eight day trading stocks to buy on Thursday, 16 July

Brent crude rose 0.4 percent to $85.28 per barrel while WTI gained 0.5 percent to $80.02, and Asian markets traded sharply lower with Nikkei 225 down more than 3 percent and Kospi falling over 6 percent. Gift Nifty was hovering around 24,055.5, a discount of about 12 points from the previous close of 24,067.80, signalling a cautious start amid mixed global cues.
