State-owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) signed definitive agreements to acquire the entire stake held by Videocon Energy Brazil Ltd (VEBL) in IBV Brazil Petroleo Limitada, marking a concrete overseas upstream expansion. Separately, Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) unveiled plans to invest between Rs 6,000 crore and Rs 7,500 crore in capital expenditure over the next five years for capacity expansion. Bharti Airtel's NBFC arm, Airtel Money, commenced commercial operations after receiving the Reserve Bank of India's Type II NBFC licence.
