Indian benchmark indices ended a weak week, with the Sensex falling 2.68% to 76,059.77 and the Nifty declining 2.33% to 23,767.45, while Midcap and Smallcap indices slipped 1.29% and 2.18% respectively. Sharp rise in crude oil prices, renewed geopolitical tensions, mixed Q1 FY27 banking earnings, and rupee weakness dragged sentiment. However, the Nifty staged a strong intraday recovery from the 23,650 support zone, forming a bullish candle with a long lower shadow, and Bank Nifty rebounded 101 points to 56,693 after defending the 56,000 level; experts expect Nifty to trade in the 23,500-24,000 range with a sideways bias.
