Sundaram Clayton reported FY 2024-25 revenue of Rs. 2,109.14 Crores, marginally higher than Rs. 2,096.97 Crores in the previous year. Operating EBITDA margin improved to 13.44% from 12.78%, while profit after tax came in at Rs. 257.92 Crores on a profit before tax of Rs. 306.08 Crores, which included a net exceptional gain of Rs. 196.69 Crores. In Q4 alone, revenue dipped slightly to Rs. 524.54 Crores from Rs. 532.32 Crores a year ago, but the EBITDA margin jumped sharply to 16.65% from 11.47%, showing strong operational improvement. The company commissioned a new smart mega die-casting facility at Thervoy Kandigai (TKP) in Chennai and is consolidating operations from four plants into two hubs. It also sold its Hosur aluminium die-casting business to Sandhar Ascast and began supplies from a new 4400-tonne die-casting machine in the US to serve North American customers.
Better margins and a new mega facility signal future capacity-led growth, but flat top-line and a large portion of profit coming from one-time exceptional gains mean investors should track whether core earnings growth sustains. The Hosur sale adds cash but reduces the domestic manufacturing footprint.
