Sundaram Clayton has invested an additional Rs. 7.45 crore to acquire 39,047 equity shares of Navia Two Power Private Limited by subscribing to a rights issue at Rs. 10 face value plus a premium of Rs. 1,897.02 per share. This raises the company's stake in Navia from 11,628 to 50,675 shares, taking its total shareholding to 18.17% (an increase of 6.54%). Navia is a Special Purpose Vehicle of the Zelestra Group, operating in the renewable energy sector to set up a captive power plant. The acquisition is aimed at meeting regulatory requirements for captive power consumption under Indian electricity laws. Navia was incorporated in August 2024, has not yet commenced operations, and reported no turnover in the last financial year.
This is a relatively small, strategic investment in a renewable energy captive power venture, not expected to materially impact the stock price. It signals the company's move to secure captive power for its operations through a Zelestra-backed SPV, but the target is pre-revenue and the investment size is modest compared to the company's overall scale.
