Sundaram-Clayton Limited has signed an Agreement to Sell on 8 January 2026 to divest a 16.381-acre land parcel located at Korattur Village, Ambattur Taluk, Chennai District, Tamil Nadu. The buyer is Canopy Living LLP, a joint venture between Arihant Foundations & Housing Limited and Prestige Estates Projects Limited. Total consideration is around Rs. 560.67 Crores, of which Rs. 25 Crores has been received as advance and the remaining Rs. 535.67 Crores will be paid on execution of the Sale Deed. The transaction is not a related party deal and is expected to be completed on or before 11 February 2026, subject to conditions precedent. The land is an asset, so turnover/revenue contribution details are not applicable, indicating this is a non-core, one-time monetisation rather than a sale of an operating business.
This is a significant asset sale that brings in over Rs. 560 Crores of cash inflows, which can strengthen the company's balance sheet and be used to reduce debt, fund capex, or support operations. For shareholders, this is a positive non-core monetisation event that could boost near-term earnings or book value, though it does not change the core business outlook.
